Accident Details
The accident occurred a few days ago in Harbiye Neighborhood, Defne district. During the incident, a heavy-duty truck suddenly experienced brake failure while driving in traffic. This unexpected situation caused the driver to lose control.
The truck, whose brakes failed, crashed into 6 parked cars while speeding down the ramp and was only able to stop this way. These terrifying moments were recorded by security cameras in the area. The videos also included moments when a citizen walking on the sidewalk narrowly escaped death.
In the accident, 6 vehicles and barriers in traffic were damaged, but fortunately, no one was killed or injured.
Witnesses’ Opinions
Mahmut Altındağ, one of the citizens who witnessed the accident, described the moment of the incident with the following words: “A really big accident happened here. The vehicles are going very fast while passing here. Thank God, no one was killed or injured.” In the accident, we did not understand what happened, there was a loud noise. We immediately went and saw that the truck hit 2 vehicles from behind. We were really scared while sitting here, whose brakes failed, then stopped. Hitting about 5 or 6 vehicles. Thank God, no one was killed, but if it continues like this, I sit here all day long because of my job and I observe the vehicles passing very fast, especially these trucks. are going at a very dangerous speed.”
