In the sad incident that took place in Hırka village of Merzifon district, 21-year-old Mert Can Şenol lost his life by drowning in the pond he entered to cool off. The incident took place yesterday afternoon.
Şenol went to the pond in Hırka village with his two friends and entered the water. However, when he suddenly disappeared in the water after swimming, his friends immediately reported the situation to the Merzifon fire brigade.
While many teams were dispatched to the region, divers from the Amasya Municipality fire brigade were also directed to the region. The search efforts continued throughout the night until the early hours of the morning. Finally, the lifeless body of the unfortunate young man was found.
Following the incident, a detailed investigation was launched into the death of the young man and an investigation was launched by the authorities.
