More than 30 United Nations experts called on states and companies to end the transfer of weapons and ammunition to Israel in their statement on Thursday, Xinhua reporter Tan Yixiao reported.
In their joint statement, the special rapporteurs of the UN Human Rights Council, independent experts and working groups called on countries and arms manufacturers to stop the sale, transfer and diversion of weapons, ammunition and other military equipment to Israel, even if carried out within the scope of existing export licenses.
Experts emphasized that such transfers could seriously violate human rights and international humanitarian law and pose the risk of states being involved in international crimes, possibly including genocide.
