IZMIR – The training provided by Bornova Municipality to raise awareness of environmental protection continues to grow exponentially with its multiplier effect. The municipality stands out with its efforts aimed at raising awareness on environmental issues.
Wide Participation from Children to Adults
The events organized by Bornova Municipality Climate and Zero Waste Directorate appeal to a wide audience, from kindergarten students to university students. The trainings, which include topics such as waste management, water resources protection and carbon footprint, attract wide participation from children to adults.
Environmental Awareness Transferred from Students to Village Schools
Bornova Municipality spreads environmental awareness with the training it provides to students of Ege University Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Landscape Architecture and students from private schools. Students who receive education go to village schools and convey the knowledge they have acquired to wider audiences and contribute to the spread of environmental awareness.
Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki states that children and young people’s awareness of environmental issues will have positive reflections on all segments of society, and emphasizes that the continuity and scope of environmental education will continue to increase.
The training aims to increase social awareness about the environment by providing information on a wide range of topics, from waste management strategies to the protection of water resources.
