Mehtap Karaoğlu Keleş and Doğan Necmettin Karaoğlu attract attention with their initiatives that add value to the economy and offer a healthy product.

Mehtap Karaoğlu Keleş states that with the pandemic process and the increase in demand for organic food, they returned to their hometown and started producing oyster mushrooms. Keleş says, “I observed that people had difficulty accessing organic products. That’s why we implemented this idea with my brother.”

A New Taste in Zara People

Stating that Zara people were initially unfamiliar with oyster mushrooms, Keleş states that the demand for their products has increased and those who tasted them once want them again. He states that they continue their production despite the difficult weather conditions and are successful in terms of tonnage.

Drawing attention to the difficulties of farmers in hot and dry periods, Keleş states that their products are around a thousand kilograms and that they even sent products to Istanbul in the first year.
