The Fight Against Forest Fires Continues
An intensive air and land intervention is being carried out against forest fires breaking out in oak trees in Manisa’s Salihli district and Siirt’s Şirvan district. In addition to the teams affiliated with the Izmir Regional Directorate of Forestry, Manisa Metropolitan Municipality and district municipality teams are also supporting the fire that broke out in the forest area near Yağbasan District for an unknown reason.
The fire, which spread rapidly under the influence of the wind, advanced towards the rural Yağbasan and Karasavcı neighborhoods. A total of 430 people were evacuated, including 65 households in Karasavcı District and 80 households in Yağbasan District. In addition, 2 forest personnel working in the fire area were affected by the smoke and their health conditions were reported to be good.
On the other hand, the Forest Management Directorate, fire brigade and gendarmerie teams are responding to the fire that broke out in the oak area in the Bacavan Plateau location of Demirkapı village in Siirt’s Şirvan district. Villagers also support the teams fighting fires in difficult terrain conditions.
