The stubble fire, which broke out in the areas between Diyarbakır’s Çınar district and Mardin’s Mazıdağı district, grew rapidly under the influence of the strong wind. AFAD, Forest Management Directorate, fire brigade and 112 Emergency Health teams quickly moved to the region and were dispatched to intervene in the fire.
While the fire was taken under control as a result of the coordinated work of the teams, unfortunately 6 people lost their lives in the fire that spread to residential areas. Additionally, 43 people were injured, 9 of them seriously.
