The stubble fire, which broke out in the area between Diyarbakır’s Çınar and Mardin’s Mazıdağı districts, was taken under control with the coordinated intervention of the authorities. Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya stated that 3 of our citizens lost their lives in Diyarbakır and 2 in Mardin. Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca also announced that 44 people were injured in the fire, 10 of them seriously.
Teams Continue Cooling Work
Thanks to the teams who came to the area where the flames rose and the intense efforts of the surrounding residents, the fire was completely taken under control and extinguished hours later. Air and land cooling work has been started.
Unconscious Stubble Burning Practice Led to Disaster
Although it is not yet clear how much cultivated land was damaged by the fire caused by burning stubble, it has been seen that this unconscious practice has led to an irreparable disaster.
