EMRA Intervened in Fuel Prices

EPDK, Akaryakıt Fiyatlarına Müdahale Etti

Fuel prices in Turkey, which change depending on exchange rates and international oil prices, are closely followed by vehicle owners. The increase in gasoline and diesel prices, which was planned to be held at midnight tonight, was postponed to a later date with the intervention of the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK). This development made vehicle owners happy.

Raise Rate Will Be Determined Again

It was envisaged that there would be an increase of 1 lira 64 kurus for gasoline and 1 lira 63 kurus for diesel, which was expected to be implemented on Friday, June 21. However, with the intervention of EMRA, this increase was postponed to Monday night, June 24. The rate of increase will be determined according to today’s and tomorrow’s exchange rates and international oil prices.

Fuel Prices

In Istanbul, the price of a liter of diesel is 40.67 lira and a liter of gasoline is 40.3 lira. Likewise, the liter price of LPG is 20.19 lira.

How Are Fuel Prices Calculated?

Gasoline and diesel prices in Turkey are calculated by adding the SCT and EMRA share to the duty-free refinery price. While calculating the duty-free refinery price, a certain price change difference is calculated by following the daily CIF Mediterranean product prices published in the Mediterranean-Italian market and the daily dollar exchange rate. As a result of this process, the duty-free refinery ceiling sales price is determined.
