In the ‘2024 Law Studies Presentation’ text dated 24 May 2024 of the Revenue Administration (GİB) affiliated to the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, there are remarkable suggestions for the increased international departure fee, which is expected to be included in the tax package Planned to be submitted to the Turkish Grand National Assembly in the near future. . According to the impact analysis of the proposal, if 8 million 743 thousand 760 people go abroad by paying fees in 2024, the 6-month income impact is expected to be 12.5 billion TL.

It is envisaged that the new tax package, which is expected to be presented to the Turkish Grand National Assembly after the Eid al-Adha holiday, will include a regulation regarding an increase in international departure fees. According to the news published in Bloomberg, it was stated that the exit fee will be increased from 150 TL to 1500 TL. Sources from the Ministry of Treasury and Finance stated that the increase is correct, but it is not a clear figure.

The exit fee, which was 50 TL in the 2019-2022 period, was increased to 150 TL in March 2022. In 2023, 1 billion 311 million liras were collected from international departure fees. In the January-April period of 2024, an income of 427 million lira was provided. A portion of the revenues obtained from international departure fees are transferred to TOKİ.
