The Electricity Crisis in the Gaza Strip and the Struggle of Saifuddin Abu Sitta

Gazze Şeridi'ndeki Elektrik Krizi ve Seyfeddin Ebu Sitta'nın Mücadelesi

As a result of the Israeli occupation’s attacks, the electrical infrastructure in the Gaza Strip has been severely damaged. This has led the people living in the area to seek alternative methods to meet their electricity needs. People are turning to makeshift solutions such as batteries and generators to sustain their daily lives.

Gazze Şeridi'nde Elektrik Krizi ve Seyfeddin Ebu Sitta'nın Mücadelesi

One of the families struggling to survive under difficult conditions in southern Gaza, especially in the city of Khan Younis, is the Abu Sitta family. The family’s 4-year-old child, Seyfeddin, stands out as a child struggling with lung and heart disease. Due to power outages, Seyfeddin has difficulty operating his vital respirator, which he is forced to use the device with a battery.

Seyfeddin’s situation reveals the extent of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The difficult conditions in which his family lives in a tent pose a great threat not only to Seyfeddin, but also to other patients in the area. Power outages due to the occupation make it impossible for life-saving devices to work and endanger people’s lives.

This is just one of the harsh realities facing the people of Gaza. The international community needs to provide more support to repair the electricity infrastructure and meet the people’s basic needs.
