Israeli Airstrike: Casualties in Nur Shams Camp
According to the latest statements from the Palestinian Ministry of Health, 5 people were martyred in an airstrike carried out by the Israeli army on the Nur Shams Refugee Camp. The bodies of the martyrs were delivered to the hospital in the area following the attack. The official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported that 4 powerful explosions were heard during the attacks in Tulkerim.
The Israeli military spokesman claimed that a target it described as an “operations room” in the Nur Shams refugee camp was hit. However, such statements provoked controversy in the international community and raised concerns about the targeting of civilians.
In the northern part of the occupied West Bank, especially in cities such as Tulkarim, Jenin and Tubas, Israel has continued to carry out intense violence and infrastructure destruction targeting civilians since October 7. The presence of Palestinian armed resistance groups in these areas has been a frequently mentioned issue by international observers.
International law experts stress that the approximately 60 airstrikes carried out by the Israeli army in the occupied West Bank since October 7 “contravene the obligations of the occupying power.” Such attacks threaten the lives of civilians and increase tensions in the region.
