Fire Disaster
Cumali Barış, who lost his wife and 1-year-old child in the fire in Adana, expressed his pain. The fire took place in TOKİ residences in Sarıçam district. His wife Meryem El Makrum and his son Mehmet Emin Barış unfortunately lost their lives.
Cause of Fire
Father Cumali Barış stated that he thought the cause of the fire was cigarettes. He stated that his wife smoked and that might have caused the fire. Barış, who was at home at the time of the incident, escaped from the fire with minor injuries.

The bodies of Meryem El Makrum and Mehmet Emin Barış were taken from Adana Forensic Medicine Morgue and delivered to their families. The grieving father and his family bid farewell to their loved ones on their final journey with a funeral ceremony held at Buruk Cemetery.
