Bodies of Israeli Prisoners Brought from Gaza
The army made an important written statement regarding the Israeli prisoners in Gaza. The statement reported that the bodies of six prisoners held in Gaza were brought to Israel from Khan Younis. The names of the Israeli prisoners whose bodies were brought were announced as follows:

- Yagev Buchshtav
- Yoram Metzger
- Nadav Popplewell
It was noted that the families and relatives of the prisoners whose bodies were brought were informed of this sad news. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in a written statement, offered his condolences to the families of the Israeli prisoners. This situation has created great sadness and anxiety in the country.
The Israeli army confirmed that two of the captives whose bodies were brought back may have been shot “by mistake.” In a statement released on July 22, it was stated that Alexander Dancyg and Yagev Buchshtav, who were captured by Hamas during the October 7 operations, may have been killed “by mistake” during the clashes in Khan Younis a few months ago.
Hamas announced on March 10 that the two prisoners had died in the clashes. However, the Israeli army refused to acknowledge this for months. Eventually, after new intelligence information emerged that Dancyg, 76, and Buchshtab, 35, were killed, the army appeared to change its previous stance.
This incident is seen as a reflection of the ongoing tension between the two sides. While the families are deeply grieving the loss of their loved ones, both sides are expressing their hope that such news will not happen again.
