A Colorful Festival in Nevsehir: Türkiye Culture Road Festival
The seventh leg of the Turkey Culture Road Festival organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism is being held in Nevşehir, famous for its historical and natural beauties. The “Nevşehir Culture Road Festival”, which started on August 3 and will end tomorrow, offers unforgettable moments to local and foreign tourists. In this year’s festival, hot air balloons with figures from 17 different countries as well as Turkey soared over the unique valleys of Cappadocia.
As part of the festival, hot air balloon pilots from Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Brazil, England, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Switzerland performed impressive demonstration flights at various points starting from August 8. The flights, especially in the skies of the Ürgüp district, offered a visual feast to the participants. Today, the hot air balloons prepared at the festival area in the Göreme town at sunrise fascinated the visitors.
The balloons at the festival include various figures such as “ice cream”, “rocket”, “heart”, “turtle”, “elephant”, “fox” and “wolf”. Local and foreign tourists who came to the festival area to watch these interesting figures formed long lines of vehicles. Many visitors came to the festival area with classic cars they rented and took many photos to immortalize these moments.
There Are About 220 Balloons In The Air
Hot air balloon pilot Oğuzhan Alkan told reporters that Cappadocia is a popular tourist destination with hot air balloon tours throughout the year. Stating that the figured balloons brought by the festival increased interest in the region, Alkan said, “There is a balloon show in Cappadocia every day. Visually different balloons arrived within the scope of this festival organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. This added “There are approximately 220 balloons in the air. Thus, the event, which was a good one, turned into a real feast.”
Rukiye Çakmak, who came from out of town to watch the balloons, said that her children in particular had a fun time. Çakmak said, “We came here early with the children. This place is very beautiful and colorful. The children loved the ice cream and the king-shaped balloon.”
The figured hot air balloons floated for about 45 minutes over the fairy chimney-covered Kılıçlar, Güllüdere and Aşk valleys. These unique balloons, which add color to the skies of the region, will continue their demonstration flights in Göreme tomorrow, on the last day of the Nevşehir Culture Road Festival.
