Yeni Malatyaspor is waiting for a response from the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) to withdraw from the Trendyol 1st League. club president Adil Gevrek, stated that they decided to withdraw from the Trendyol 1st League last season due to the earthquakes that occurred on February 6, 2023 centered in Kahramanmaraş, and that they applied to the TFF to withdraw this season on the condition that their rights remain reserved.
Gevrek stated that he verbally conveyed his request not to join the league to the previous TFF management, and said, “The previous TFF management also stated to us that we may not join the league this season, provided that our rights were reserved, and said , ‘Make your plan accordingly.’ The old management made the decision not to join the league, but since they did not officially sign, the new TFF management said, ‘Yeni Malatyaspor should join the league.'”
Gevrek gave the following information about the club’s current situation: “We have no players, no facilities, no stadium. We have rented out our existing players. We are already having great difficulty in bringing players to Malatya. We don’t have any players At the moment we have zero chance of playing the match against Pendikspor.
President Gevrek emphasized that they have applied to the federation again and said, “We believe that this decision will be reviewed once again. We will convey this situation to our President by letter. We believe that TFF will not cause another trauma to Yeni Malatyaspor and “the people of Malatya, who have experienced so many difficulties.”
