Australian Prime Minister Albanese’s Statements on Gaza
At a press conference held in Perth, Western Australia, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese made important statements that his country does not provide weapons to Israel. Albanese emphasized that this was true not only during their own government, but also before October 7.
“The stance we have taken on this issue is a very principled approach,” Albanese said, adding that Australia’s votes at the United Nations (UN) sessions focused on efforts to reduce tensions in the region rather than making untrue statements.
Stating that they called for a ceasefire in Gaza, Albanese called on the international community, Increasing aid to Palestiniansand Israelis and Palestinians can live in peace, a two-state solutionshould be established, it was noted.
“I respectfully say that Australia is in a position to stop the conflict in this region, but all we can do is speak out for peace. In that context, we must condemn any loss of innocent life, whether Israeli or Palestinian,” Mr Albanese said.
