Condolences to Ismail Haniyeh, Head of Hamas Political Bureau
The 3-day condolence program was held after the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas Political Bureau, who was the symbol of the Palestinian cause, has ended. The condolence was held in Doha, the capital of Qatar. Hamas senior officials who came together here decided to convene the Shura Council to elect a new president.

The condolence tents set up after Haniyeh was sent off to her final journey in Doha attracted great interest. The funeral, which was followed by seven people from the Albayrak Group’s television, internet and newspaper channels, was full of emotional moments. Khaled Meshal, who is expected to be the new head of Hamas’s political bureau, and Hamas International Relations Office head Musa Abu Merzouk conveyed their support by shaking hands with everyone who attended the condolences.
“THE RESISTANCE WILL CONTINUE” MESSAGE
Hamas officials who attended the condolences gave a joint message, emphasizing that “the resistance will continue.” All the executives who spoke to our newspaper expressed their determination by stating that the resistance will continue with the new president. Khaled Meshal, Hamas’s foreign representative and one of the new presidential candidates, thanked the condolence visitors from Turkey individually. Meshal expressed his gratitude to the Albayrak Group for Yeni Şafak’s devoted news supporting the Palestinian cause.
QURAN RECIATION ALL DAY LONG
A special point was set up for women during the condolence process, and many Qatari female officials were present there. Ismail Haniyeh’s wife, daughters and daughters-in-law warmly welcomed those attending the condolence. High-level security measures were taken during the 3-day condolence. The Qatari Ministry of Interior conducted security checks on women at the entrance and exit of the condolence. The condolence began at 7 am and ended at 10 am each day. The Quran was recited first, followed by evening prayers, and then prayers were said for Haniyeh and the thousands of Palestinians martyred in Gaza. Many women attending the condolence conveyed their condolences to Haniyeh’s wife and left the area with dates and Zamzam water offered.
