Statements by Israeli Defense Minister
According to the latest statements from the Israeli Ministry of Defense, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant made important assessments during the exercise conducted by the occupying Israeli army. Drawing attention to the tensions on the Lebanese border during this process, Gallant stated that Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah “could drag Lebanon into paying a very heavy price.”
Gallant emphasized the tension with Hezbollah, saying, “This situation could turn into a war. This is not a theoretical scenario, this is a real possibility.” Threatening Hezbollah by giving the example of the destruction caused by the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip, Gallant said, “They cannot even imagine what could happen. If they consider the situation in Gaza, they will understand better.”
On the other hand, it was reported that the occupying Israeli army killed Fuad Shukur, a senior Hezbollah commander, in an airstrike targeting him in Beirut on July 30. Following this attack, tensions in the region have been increasing, and there are reports that Hezbollah is preparing to retaliate for the assassination of Shukur.
