Hurricane Debby is expected to cause major problems in the US with heavy rain, flooding and storms in the states of Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. According to the statements made by the US National Hurricane Center, Hurricane Debby, located off the coast of Tampa, Florida, is moving north at 12 miles per hour.

The hurricane is expected to cause heavy rainfall in these three states, causing flooding and storms. According to estimates, it is expected to make landfall in the Big Bend region of Florida around noon local time. Coastal areas such as Savannah, Georgia, Hilton Head Island, and Charleston in South Carolina are among the areas most affected by the flooding caused by the hurricane. Its effects are expected to last until August 9.

State Governors Declared a State of Emergency

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced in a post on social media platform DeSantis also stated that 3,000 National Guardsmen have been put on standby to combat the disaster.

South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster and Georgia Governor Brian Kemp also announced via the X platform that they have declared a “state of emergency” in their states due to Hurricane Debby. These developments are seen as part of the efforts of local governments to take rapid and effective measures against the threats brought by the hurricane.
