Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan set out to pay an official visit to Egypt. This important visit is considered a critical step in strengthening regional cooperation and international relations. Minister Fidan began his contacts in Egypt yesterday, first visiting the Egyptian Port and Rafah Border Gate. During these visits, he met with Turkish employees of the Red Crescent and received information about humanitarian aid efforts.

Minister Fidan also held an important meeting with Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abu Gayt in the city of Alamein, Egypt. Following this meeting, he met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi today. Received by President el-Sisi, Minister Fidan made a comprehensive assessment of regional and global issues in Gaza and its surroundings.

In addition, Minister Fidan will hold his first official meeting with Badr Abdellaty, who was appointed as Foreign Minister in the newly formed government in Egypt at the beginning of July. This meeting is expected to contribute to the further strengthening of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The joint press conference to be held by the two ministers will be an important part of the visit.
