Cultural Project from Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University
Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University (ÇOMÜ) Rector Prof. Dr. Cüneyt Erenoğlu announced to reporters that the cultural events held in different cities throughout Turkey for 4 years will be brought together under the name of “City of Civilization Çanakkale Culture Project” this year.
Prof. Dr. Erenoğlu stated that the project, which will be implemented on November 20th and hosted by the university, will be supported by some of the university’s leading academic units. Erenoğlu stated the following:
“Under the leadership of our State Conservatory, Faculty of Music and Performing Arts and Faculty of Fine Arts, this important project is planned to be realized on November 20. Our events will include cultural exhibitions, cultural fashion shows, concerts and music events, as well as symposiums and scientific conferences. We especially aim to organize traditional art workshops, Çanakkale’s unique food festivals, history and culture tours and events with international participation. All these events will be important cultural activities that touch the city and the region from an academic perspective. .”
Rector Erenoğlu emphasized that these events will make a great contribution to highlighting the cultural richness of Çanakkale, promoting it on both national and international platforms, and preserving the local cultural heritage and passing it on to new generations.
Elif Tayhan, the producer of the City of Civilization Çanakkale Culture Project, reminds that the project was an important initiative carried out in a total of 7 provinces, especially in Istanbul.
Tayhan stated that the aim of the project is to transfer Çanakkale’s cultural heritage and deep-rooted past to new generations in a way that will shed light on the future. Tayhan made the following statements:
“The City Civilization Culture Project is a very important project to promote the history, culture and cultural heritage of Çanakkale. As a Çanakkale resident, I am very happy that the project will be carried out here. If we can contribute even a little to the promotion of our city, we are very happy.”
