Export Figures in the Automotive Industry
The supply industry, one of the sub-product groups of the automotive sector, realized exports of 1 billion 233 million dollars in 2023. While passenger car exports reached 1 billion 160 million dollars, exports of motor vehicles for transporting goods were recorded as 497 million dollars, exports of buses-minibuses-midibuses were 141 million dollars and exports of tractors were recorded as 61 million dollars.
While the highest exports in the supply industry were made to Germany, the United Kingdom came to the fore in passenger cars and motor vehicles for transporting goods. In the bus-minibus-midibus product group, France was the country with the highest exports.
Largest Market: United Kingdom
The United Kingdom, with $457 million in exports in July, maintains its position as the country with the highest exports. Germany is the second largest market with $377 million in exports, while France is third with $288 million in exports.
Exports to European Union countries, which have the largest share among country groups, increased by 8.6% compared to July of last year, reaching 2 billion 34 million dollars. Other European countries ranked second with a share of 16%, while exports to this country group increased by 69%. On the other hand, exports to African countries decreased by 13% and to Middle Eastern countries by 27%.
Baran Çelik, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the O Exporters’ Association (OIB), whose views were included in the statement, made the following statements:
“Last month, we recorded significant increases in the supply industry, passenger cars and goods transport motor vehicles groups. We experienced remarkable increases of 78.6% to the United Kingdom and 23% to Italy. “Our automotive industry exports in the first seven months of the year increased by 3.9% compared to the same period last year, reaching 20 billion 818 million dollars.”
