The Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) imposed administrative sanctions on subscription-based on-demand platforms such as Netflix, MUBI and Blu TV at its regular weekly meeting. According to the monitoring reports prepared at the meeting, some content on the platforms was discussed.
Netflix Sanctions ‘Sausage Party’ Production
RTÜK decided to remove the production “Sausage Party”, which was on the Netflix platform and drew criticism for its immoral content, from the catalog after Prime Video. Details about the administrative sanction decision were not disclosed.
Sanction on MUBI and Blu TV for the Movie “Climax”
The French and Belgian co-production “Climax”, which was the subject of RTÜK’s report, was broadcast on MUBI and Blu TV platforms. The board determined that the violence, sexuality, incest and homosexuality in the film were against moral values. For this reason, both broadcast platforms were given a maximum administrative fine and were removed from the catalogue.
