The fire that broke out at the Mesir Plastic Industry factory in the Muradiye Medium-Scale Industrial Zone in the Yunusemre district of Manisa was quickly brought under control. The fire occurred at around 13:30 and according to initial reports, it started due to a spark from a fuse.
The fire, which was initially attempted to be contained by factory workers, grew rapidly, and 25 workers in the factory were evacuated. Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department and Organized Industrial Zones firefighters intervened in the fire and brought it under control. The teams’ cooling efforts continue.
The owner of the factory, Mustafa Savran, stated that they produce plastic legs for furniture and that the fire started as a result of a spark in the fuse panel and that after the first intervention attempts, they carried out the evacuation process considering the safety of the workers.
The fire, which also caused damage to another factory right next door, caused short-term anxiety in the area. After the fire was brought under control with difficulty, investigation and evaluation efforts are continuing.
