About 150 children were scheduled to travel to the UAE via Israel for treatment on Monday, but following the Magdel Shams attack, Prime Minister Netanyahu postponed the children’s departure from Gaza, Israeli state television reported.
No detailed information was given on how this decision by Netanyahu was related to the attack on Magdalene Shams. No statement has yet been made on whether a new date has been set.
Magdala Shams Attack
Twelve people, including children, were killed and 35 people were injured, 17 of them seriously, when a rocket hit a football field in the town of Majdal Shams in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.
The Israeli army said the attack was launched from southern Lebanon and that Lebanese Hezbollah was responsible. However, Hezbollah denied this claim and said it had no connection with the incident.
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said in a statement regarding the attack: “Israel will not write this deadly attack off. Hezbollah will pay a heavy price that it has never paid before.”
