In a statement on Hamas’ website, it was stated that Hamas leader Haniyeh harshly criticized Israel’s oppression and attacks against the people of Gaza. Haniyeh emphasized that Israel has been committing genocide against the people of Gaza for about 10 months and that there has been an alarming increase in the number of deaths of prisoners in prisons.
The statement said that the conditions that the captives were subjected to were inhumane, that psychological and physical torture were widely practiced, and that the captives were not provided with the necessary health services and basic needs. Haniyeh criticized the silence of the international community, stating that the US administration supported Israel and that human rights institutions were inadequate.
