Palestinian Athletes Receive Enthusiastic Welcome at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport
Palestinian athletes arriving at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport were met with an enthusiastic welcome and a great outpouring of love. Swimmer Written by Al Bawwab, judoka Fares Badawi and boxer Wasim Abusal, who were in the delegation, shared their feelings with AA correspondents.
Swimmer Written by Al Bawwab:He stated that he was very happy with the large crowd that came and said, “None of us expected this many people to be here. We are very happy that people came here and welcomed us while our country is under pressure. We are human and “We want to do sports like everyone else. We want to be treated the same way everyone else is treated. We thank everyone here wholeheartedly.”
Judoka Fares Badawi:Expressing his great pride in representing his country in Paris, he said, “I am very happy to be here. They welcomed us very well. I hope we can represent our country in the best way possible. We are here, we are strong, “we will stay strong and we will never give up.”
Boxer Wasim Abusal:Emphasizing that he was the first boxer to represent Palestine in the Olympics, he said, “Today we are in Paris. I feel like I am among my family here. All the people here came for us. I thank them.”
