Yulio, the Archpriest of the Greek Catholic Church in the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, made statements to an AA correspondent regarding the scene featuring Jesus Christ at the opening celebrations of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games hosted by France.

“This revival, in which the sanctity of Jesus Christ is violated, is not permissible. In my opinion, any kind of abuse and humiliation is a deliberate process aimed at distorting the concept of religion and fighting against religions, not just the Christian religion,” said Abbot Yulio.

Assessing the use of homosexuals in the scene as very dangerous, Yulio continued: “The situation is very, very dangerous. “The use of homosexuals and non-homosexuals by secret forces that transcend borders in the world and aim to eliminate religion is a dangerous process aimed at emptying the content of religion in a deliberate and systematic process.”

Yulia reacted to the scene unfolding in France and condemned it, pointing out that the powers in question protect the external appearance of religion but detach it from its real content.

Pointing out that ordinary people cannot realize that religion is being targeted, Yulio said, “Ordinary people do not pay attention and cannot realize what is happening. However, this happens in religion, politics and every field. With this method, values are eliminated and thus society turns into a valueless, symbolless society. However, all societies need values and symbols.”
