Bayraktar made important statements about Turkey’s energy agenda in his program on A Haber. Sharing details about the new ship that will join Turkey’s energy fleet, Bayraktar stated that the ship will contribute to natural gas production. He stated that the new ship will set off for Turkey and is planned to increase production in the Black Sea gas field.
Bayraktar announced that the ship will set off from Singapore and will take approximately two months to reach Turkey. He emphasized that the platform will undergo maintenance at the shipyard in Marmara and then go to Filyos Port. Bayraktar also touched on the targets of increasing daily production at the Sakarya Gas Field, stating that the new platform will produce 10 million cubic meters of natural gas per day in 2026 and will meet the natural gas needs of approximately 5 million households.
Bayraktar also provided information on Turkey’s oil and natural gas exploration activities off the coast of Somalia. He said that seismic studies would begin within the scope of the agreement made with Somalia and that the Oruç Reis Seismic Research Vessel would participate in these studies. Bayraktar also touched on the gold mine studies carried out in Niger and announced that Turkey aims to realize its first gold production in Niger in 2025.
Bayraktar also touched upon the issue of transporting Turkmenistan gas to Turkey in the field of natural gas, stating that initially, it was planned to bring 1.5-2 billion cubic meters of gas annually to Turkey. Emphasizing that Turkey would continue to take important steps in its work in the field of energy, Bayraktar stated that efforts towards the country’s energy independence would continue.
