Following the detention of journalist Hazim Nasser in the occupied West Bank city of Tulkarim, Israel has detained 91 Palestinian journalists since launching its offensive on Gaza on October 7, according to a statement by the Palestinian Prisoners’ Association.
The statement stated that a total of 53 journalists, including 6 female journalists, were still in custody. It was emphasized that 16 of these detentions were made in the Gaza Strip. It was shared that 17 journalists were in prison within the scope of Israel’s administrative detention practice.
According to a statement by the Palestinian organization, Israel has detained at least 22 Palestinians in raids in various West Bank cities in the past 24 hours. This brings the number of Palestinians detained in the occupied West Bank since October 7, bringing the total to 9,800.
It was emphasized that since the start of Israel’s attack on the Gaza Strip, detentions, raids and attacks against Palestinians in the West Bank and Jerusalem have increased.
