An explosion and fire occurred on Tuesday at a Jose Cuervo tequila factory in the city of Tequila, Mexico. The incident was confirmed by Andrés Chávez, a spokesman for the local government.
Reports suggest there may have been casualties, but official confirmation is pending. The explosion took place in the heart of Tequila, which is located approximately 40 miles northwest of Guadalajara in the state of Jalisco.
Tequila’s mayor, José Alfonso Magallanes, mentioned on social media that emergency responders are still working at the site, and the situation is not yet contained.
