United Nations Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric shared the developments in Gaza at his daily press conference. Stating that the occupying Israel, especially the “evacuation orders”, were turning people’s lives upside down, Dujarric also emphasized that the Israeli army’s distribution of leaflets before the attack and asking people to evacuate very quickly increased the risks.
Dujarric reported that 150,000 people fled Khan Younis alone yesterday. Stating that people had to flee without taking anything with them, Dujarric also drew attention to the lack of infrastructure in the areas where these people went.
Referring to the attack on two vehicles belonging to the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Dujarric stated that the perpetrator of the attack was not yet known. He stated that his colleagues in the field were unable to conduct a “judicial investigation” and were trying to continue their duties “amidst the conflicts.”
The UN Spokesperson emphasized that they condemn all attacks against humanitarian workers and civilians.
