The collapse of the Karabük-Eskipazar D-755 highway in the direction of Ankara, which occurred in recent days due to heavy rainfall, has negatively affected transportation in the region. The soil flowing from the collapsed area closed the railway where the Karabük-Çankırı freight train services are carried out at the bottom of the road. Due to this situation, transportation on the highway is provided in two directions from a single lane, while train services have stopped.

Highway teams have started working to open the railway and highway to traffic as soon as possible. The situation was described in the statement made by the Karabük Governorship as follows: “Due to the road collapse that occurred at the Karabük exit of the Karabük-Eskipazar highway in the direction of Ankara (next to Kardemir), the necessary precautions have been taken and the traffic flow is being provided in a controlled manner from a single lane to two directions. Our drivers need to be careful in this area and comply with the warnings and directions of the traffic teams. The railway line that was negatively affected by the road collapse has been temporarily closed to navigation. Railways teams have started work to reopen the highway and railway to traffic, and the work is ongoing.”
