As a result of the investigations carried out by the special diver team, an anchor thought to belong to the Rüsumat 4 ship was found in an area of approximately 1 square kilometer. Divers stated that the ship may have been covered with sand in the stream bed approximately 100-150 meters from the shore. The ship’s anchor and some debris were reached using an underwater camera.
AK Party Giresun Deputy Prof. Dr. Nazım Elmas made examinations at the Topallı Creek area where the Rüsumat 4 ship sank in the Eynesil district. Elmas said, “Rüsumat 4 will make great contributions to the Eynesil district and Giresun’s tourism. We wish to reach the wreckage of the ship as soon as possible and bring it to light.”
Eynesil District Governor Erkut Pamuk also examined the works closely and said, “We are carrying out all official works in Eynesil district, where Rüsumat 4 was sunken, to bring the sunken ship to light and commemorate its history. May Rüsumat 4 be auspicious for our province and district.”
Giresun University Kamil Nalbant Vocational School Lecturer Mevlüt Kaya said, “Reaching the wreckage of the Rüsumat 4 ship will make concrete contributions to the history of our region and country, and will provide great benefits to tourism.”
