Hot Weather Takes Effect on Istanbul
According to meteorological data, a heat wave has been affecting the city in Istanbul this week, with temperatures ranging between 33-36 degrees. Due to the sweltering heat, citizens are trying various methods to cool off.
Coastal and Green Areas Left Empty
The green areas around Avcılar beach and Küçükçekmece Lake were generally empty due to the crowded citizens. Those who want to escape the heat prefer to cool off in shaded and closed areas. Some citizens who came to Karaköy and Eminönü beaches tried to protect themselves from the sun with umbrellas.
Sea and Green Areas Provide Relief to Citizens
A few people who swim at Sarayburnu find relief in the cool waters of the Bosphorus, but prefer to rest under the shade of trees after getting out. With humidity expected to reach 81 percent at night, Istanbulites are taking meteorological warnings into consideration and are taking care to be especially careful during the hottest hours between 11:00 and 16:00.
The extreme heat in the city poses a risk especially for those with chronic diseases, the elderly and children. For this reason, citizens are warned to take the necessary precautions and be cautious against hot weather conditions.
