Hot Weather Takes Effect on Istanbul
The hot weather in Istanbul, which was above seasonal norms, had a negative impact on citizens. While thermometers showed 41 degrees, many people sought solutions to cool off. In addition to those who preferred parks and shaded areas, there were also those who preferred to cool off by jumping into the sea.
In a statement made by the Istanbul Governorship Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM), it was warned that the air temperature will remain 3-6 degrees above seasonal norms until July 28.
Erol Güneş, who entered the sea in Sarayburnu, stated that he preferred the sea to escape from the hot weather and said: ” “It was very hot on Wednesday, so we wanted to come here and cool off. Even walking on the street, it felt like it was burning. The sea is relaxing for us. We come here with friends, chat, and sunbathe. I “Used to go to Kilyos, but now I prefer here. The view is great, Asia on one side, Europe on the other.”
