According to a written statement from the Egyptian Presidency, President Sisi held a telephone conversation with Czech President Petr Pavel. During the meeting, bilateral relations between Egypt and the Czech Republic were discussed, as well as regional and international developments such as the Gaza Strip and the Ukraine crisis were evaluated.
One of the important points emphasized by Sisi was the need to resolve international and regional crises through peaceful means. Sisi stated that international efforts should be increased for the humanitarian disaster in the Gaza Strip and called for urgent humanitarian aid to be delivered to the Palestinian people.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s statements regarding the new ceasefire proposal presented by US President Joe Biden during the indirect negotiation process between Israel and Hamas were also mentioned. Netanyahu stated that they would continue their attacks in Gaza until the determined goals were achieved.
