Tajani, who is also responsible for foreign trade and will host the trade ministers of the G7 countries in Reggio Calabria in the south of the country on July 16-17, held a press conference regarding the meeting. He stated that the G7 Trade Ministers meeting will focus on four priority issues: strengthening the multilateral trading system through reforming the World Trade Organization, ensuring a level playing field in global markets, promoting environmental sustainability in trade, and increasing economic resilience and security.

Tajani, who stated that he will make a presentation on the “Food for Gaza” project that they launched with the relevant organizations of the United Nations (UN) in March at the G7 Trade Ministers meeting, said, “We will open the doors of the G7 to the interlocutors that we see as priorities in addressing the fundamental problems of the global economy. The G7 should be an open organization, not a closed one. That is why I wanted Brazil, South Korea, Vietnam, Turkey, New Zealand and India, where billions of people live, to participate.”

Turkish Trade Minister Ömer Bolat is expected to attend the first day sessions of the G7 Trade Ministers meeting.
