This week’s Friday sermon, prepared by the General Directorate of Religious Services, will address the topic of “July 15: Our nation’s epic victory.”
Honorable Muslims!
In the verse we read, our Lord says: “When it is said to them, ‘Do not cause corruption on the earth,’ they say, ‘We are only reformers.’ But they are the corrupters. But they refuse to understand.” [Al-Baqarah, 2/11,12.] In the hadith we read, our Prophet (pbuh) says: “How evil is the person who exploits religion as a tool for worldly purposes!… How evil is the person who is led astray by his desires and wishes!” [Tirmidhi, Sifat al-Qiyamah, 17.]
Dear Believers!
Next Monday, we will celebrate the 8th anniversary of the July 15 victory. This victory was achieved thanks to the steadfastness of our state and the courage of our nation. The spirit of unity, togetherness and solidarity that we displayed shoulder to shoulder as a nation on the night of July 15 was written in gold letters in history. This epic resilience is an example of determination and courage overcoming humiliation and cowardice.
Dear Muslims!
FETÖ, which carried out the treason of July 15, exploited our faith, our worship, our national and spiritual values, and targeted our independence and future. The steadfastness we have shown as a nation in the face of this treason should be an example for future generations.

Tuesday, 10th Muharram is the day of Ashura. Our Prophet recommended fasting on the day of Ashura. Ashura is remembered as the day when Hz. Hussein and the Ahl al-Bayt-i Mustafa were martyred. On the anniversary of this painful event, we remember our martyrs with mercy and gratitude.
Dear Muslims!
There will always be those who threaten the unity and solidarity of our country. Therefore, we must raise our youth correctly, attaching importance to learning authentic religious knowledge, and be alert against centers of discord. We remember our martyrs and veterans with gratitude, and pray to our Lord not to harm our state and nation.
