The NATO Heads of State and Government Summit held in Washington, the capital of the United States, continued on its second day. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who attended the summit, made statements to members of the press following the sessions held today.

- The Summit Was Completed Successfully:The summit program was successfully completed. We held another historic summit in the 75th year of our alliance. We thank President Biden and the US authorities for hosting us.
- Ukraine Crisis:We supported international law in the Russia-Ukraine war. We agreed on new concrete steps and approved NATO’s training support to Ukraine. It was decided to appoint a senior NATO representative to Kiev.
- Turkey’s Role:Turkey continues to make efforts to end the Ukraine crisis. I emphasized that just peace is important for everyone. Turkey continues to be one of the countries that contribute the most to NATO.
I stated that we are in a period where crises are deepening and tensions are increasing, and I emphasized that Turkey is fulfilling its responsibilities. I drew attention to the importance of the support we are giving to the alliance.
