The far-right Identity and Democracy group, which was active in the previous term in the EP, expelled the party due to statements made by AfD member Maximilian Krah before the elections. This situation could affect the AfD’s position in European politics.

The Patriots of Europe, founded under the leadership of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, did not include the party in the group due to the controversial statements of the AfD MP.
