Speaking on his party’s group proposal, CHP Elazığ Deputy Gürsel Erol stated that in recent history, two massacres such as Madımak and Başbağlar have occurred in Turkey, which have wounded human dignity. Erol emphasized that the Madımak case has fallen out of the status of limitations and that this has opened a separate wound in the conscience of society. He also stated that deep powers have stepped in in Başbağlar and are trying to pit society against each other.
“The hands that committed the two massacres are the same”
AK Party Malatya Deputy Bülent Tüfenkci stated that the Madımak and Başbağlar massacres were an attempt against social peace, unity and solidarity. Tüfenkci, “Those who used the terrorist organization PKK in Başbağlar committed a massacre against humanity. The Başbağlar and Madımak massacres were handled in a multidimensional manner during the AK Party government. We did not engage in politics over the pain. We did not differentiate between the massacres. The hands that committed the two massacres are the same. Our fight against terrorism will continue within the boundaries of democratic law.”said.
In the vote held following the speeches, CHP’s group proposal was not accepted.
