According to a statement from the Press Office of the Karh Criminal Court in the capital Baghdad, the death sentence was given to Esma Muhammed, the wife of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, on serious charges. It was stated that Esma Muhammed tried to “collaborate with ISIS and imprison Yazidi women in her home and then kidnapped them from the Sinjar region west of Mosul to ISIS militants.”
