Economic and industrial cooperation between Japan and Arab League countries continues to gain importance. The “5th Japan-Arab Economic Forum” hosted by the Japanese government and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) was held in Tokyo. The forum brought together government and business representatives from Saudi Arabia, Egypt and other Arab League countries.
Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Saito stated in his speech at the forum that Japan aims to grow by establishing new business partnerships with Arab League countries. Minister Saito emphasized that the aim of the forum is “to create opportunities for cooperation in various fields to ensure peace, stability and prosperity between Japan and Arab countries.”
Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Abu Gheit also spoke at the forum, expressing his belief in strengthening mutual cooperation in areas such as energy transformation and digital technology.
As part of the forum, public and private sector representatives will come together in a wide range of areas including trade, investment, science and technology, renewable energy and digitalization. A joint declaration is planned to be signed at the end of the forum.
