The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a harsh response to Israel’s targeting of the UNRWA school in Nusayrat in the Gaza Strip. The statement said that Israel’s ongoing attacks since October 7 have caused an unprecedented humanitarian disaster in the Gaza Strip.
The statement included the following statements: “Israel’s targeting of refugee centers where forcibly displaced Palestinians are sheltered and most recently the UNRWA school in Nusayrat Refugee Camp is condemned. This attack is a clear violation of international law, human rights law and all human values.”
It was emphasized that these attacks on humanitarian aid facilities and shelters, which must be protected according to international law, were a clear violation of international humanitarian law, and that Israel rejected peace and intimidated civilians.
The Jordanian Foreign Ministry called on the international community to “take urgent and decisive steps to stop these crimes and provide international protection to Palestinian civilians.” The statement also said that “international silence encourages Israel to commit more crimes and increases the suffering of the Palestinian people.”
It was recalled that 16 Palestinians, mostly children and women, were martyred and 50 people were injured as a result of Israeli army warplanes targeting the UNRWA school in Nusayrat where forcibly displaced civilians were taking shelter.
