According to a statement made by the US Central Command (CENTCOM), the temporary pier built to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza was moved to the Israeli city of Ashdod today due to adverse weather conditions.
According to CENTCOM’s statement, more than 8,831 metric tons of aid have been delivered through the sea corridor by humanitarian organizations to be distributed to the people of Gaza since May 17. Last week, more than 10 million pounds of aid was delivered to Gaza through the Temporary pier alone, providing the second highest aid volume among all crossings.
Today, due to the expected adverse weather conditions and the state of the sea, the temporary pier was moved from the Gaza coast to Ashdod, Israel.
