Sason Strawberry Producers Sent Strawberries to President Erdoğan
Strawberry producers in Sason district of Şanlıurfa presented the delicious strawberries they grew with the support of the state to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. At this special meeting, the aroma and taste of strawberries were praised by President Erdoğan.
Sason Strawberry: Grown organically in the Sason district, Sason strawberries, known for their eye-catching color and unique taste, were started to be produced with state support in 2012 as an alternative to tobacco. During this period, strawberry production became increasingly widespread in the district and became a source of income for over 400 families.
Statements of Kutbettin Erdem, one of the producers: Kutbettin Erdem, one of the strawberry producers, stated that they started producing Sason strawberries in 2012 as an alternative to tobacco. He stated that in this process, which started with the support provided by the state, strawberry production in the district gained great momentum and 400 families continued to make a living. President Erdoğan praised the strawberries when he tasted them, making strawberry producers proud.
Job Opportunities for Young People: With the increase in strawberry production, job opportunities have been created for young people in Sason district. Thanks to increasing supports and incentives, young people can earn a living by working on their own land.
Observations of Emrullah Işık: Emrullah Işık, one of the strawberry producers, talked about his family’s transition from tobacco farming to strawberry production. Stating that in addition to strawberry production in the district, various strawberry products are also produced, Işık emphasized that this contributes to the district economy and the country’s economy. President Erdoğan’s positive comments about the taste and quality of strawberries were welcomed with great satisfaction by the farmers.
While strawberry producers gave detailed information about the strawberries they presented to President Erdoğan, they also shared information about the export of strawberries.
