A 4-storey building dating back to 1970, located in Zafer District in Bahçelievler district of Istanbul, partially collapsed in the morning hours. After the incident, fire brigade and AFAD teams were quickly dispatched to the region and determined that there was no one under the rubble.
According to the statements made, there was no loss of life or injury as a result of the collapse on Yadigar Street. While police teams took extensive security measures in the surrounding area, AFAD teams started search and rescue activities in the debris. In the studies in which particularly sensitive dogs were used, it was determined that there was no one under the rubble.
In the statement made by the Governorship of Istanbul, “It was determined that the partially collapsed 4-storey building was built in 1970. Our teams quickly arrived at the scene and carried out the necessary investigations. No loss of life or injuries have been detected so far. The surrounding buildings were evacuated as a precaution and security measures were taken.
While it was stated that the work at the scene continued, the debris of the collapsed building was viewed in detail with a drone. While security measures in the region continue, the meticulous work of the teams will provide detailed information about the causes of the incident and possible risks.
