Details of the incident
The fire that broke out in Ata District in Aydın’s Efeler district was completely taken under control after 24 hours of intensive intervention. The fire started in a grassy area and spread to a warehouse belonging to a business due to the wind. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
Intervention Process
Aydın Forest Management Directorate, Aydın Metropolitan Municipality fire brigades, AFAD and UMKE teams were dispatched to the scene. Helicopters and TOMAs also supported the firefighting. A more effective intervention was carried out in the morning with the help of work machines.
Latest Status
In the fire, two firefighters were affected by smoke and were taken to hospital. Glassware, plastic products and lighter fluids in the warehouse were damaged. While cooling efforts continue, business personnel are trying to save products that were not damaged by the fire.
All that remained was destroyed walls and burned crops.
While the cause of the fire is being determined, the evaluation of the damaged items continues.
